Rehabilitative Exercise

Rehabilitation Exercises are not the same as general exercise or sport specific training. Rehabilitative exercise is a 1-2 punch. It trains and strengthens the other connective tissues (other than muscles) and it retrains you on how to use them properly.

All exercises should be:

  1. Pain free

  2. Full Range

  3. Slow and controlled

It is normal to feel a little ‘out of puff’ from normal exertion on some exercises. Especially on second or third sets. These exercises should be more mentally difficult than they are physically. Getting them right and doing them consistently for long enough for learning, tissue healing and remodelling to take place is critical for success

Sometimes more our patients need a full work out and rehabilitation program in a gym setting with instruction. Other times these patients do not have the time at home because of their busy families to get time for themselves. In these cases we can work along side personal trainers or physiotherapists to work together as a team.

In some cases we make referrals to physiotherapists we trust.
